DIRECTOR

With her formidable track record as Australia’s music theatre triple threat par excellence, Sharon Millerchip has seamlessly transitioned from leading lady to director. Since stepping out from under the spotlight, Sharon made her directorial debut in 2014 working on the Baz Luhrmann/Global Creatures’ musical, Strictly Ballroom, as Children’s Director. She was also the show’s Resident Director, and later the Resident Director on the Walt Disney musical, Aladdin. Other notable credits include her work as the Artist Liaison Co-Coordinator on Cause Celeb: Actors’ Equity 75th Birthday Concert and Hayes Theatre Inaugural Fundraiser Concert, her Choreography for Fangirls, and directing of Becoming Eliza at the Sydney Opera House. Most recently she was the Australian Resident Director for Six – The Musical (Louise Withers/Michael Coppel/Linda Bewick) winning a Green Room Award for Best Musical Theatre Ensemble and Assistant Director for RGB: Of Many, One by Suzie Miller (Sydney Theatre Company).

The combination of Sharon’s award-winning talents – no less than 3 Helpmann Awards – and unparalleled industry experience make her uniquely qualified as a director.
