Tomas (they/them) is a multidisciplinary artist born on Dharawal Country, Wollongong, and acknowledges the Dharawal People’s sovereignty. Tomas is a graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts and the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
They utilise their creativity in a myriad of ways, with a focus on music composition and playwriting. Tomas music has been performed with Orchestra Victoria, The Australian Ballet, The Sydney Philharmonia Choirs and The Sydney Philharmonia Orchestra. Their work on the short film Behind Barres won them Best Original Score at Vancouver Island Short Film Festival.
Tomas is currently working on a new musical and a choral symphony, both set to premiere in 2025, and their play threadbare is currently being workshopped. They are undergoing their doctorate in music composition through Sydney Conservatorium of Music where they have received the University of Sydney Postgraduate Award and will be heading to Helsinki in mid-2024 to present some of their research at the International Society of Music Education Conference.
